Lorie nodded at the sentiment of the hunt. That was something she could appreciate. As long as it wasn't another accursed sandwich, she would be fine dealing with whatever it turned out to be. As for the suggested tactic of taking it from either side, it was basic, but given they had absolutely no idea what they were up against - at least from what Lorie could tell - then it was as good a springboard as any.
No initial battle plan ever survives the battle. And so it only made sense to start with something simple and then adapt from there based on the changing circumstances.
"We would be more effective to divide its attention in that way, yes." A quick affirmation of what seemed like a plan built only on guesswork.
The young self-styled Archon raised her sword to her side in a state of alertness as she followed her well-armoured new compatriot into the door and down the stairwell.
"Signal oscillations continue at random intervals," Hofud noted.
"Still as problematic as ever then," Lorie muttered as they descended into the breach. The area was dark, and though it was something a basic light spell could illuminate, she was not keen on giving away their position, assuming that the familiar couldn't see in the dark, at any rate.
It was something she was banking on, but that was no guarantee in itself. At the very least, the sandwich had no problem in the containment facility. But there was still so little they knew of these creatures, and they all seemed so different from each other despite theoretically being in a single category. Who was to say it wasn't blind in the dark, right?
"Nachtsicht," she muttered. Her mana flickered very slightly. Soon, her perception of the darkness changed into a dull monochrome that could be more easily navigated. The night vision spell originated with hunters who sought the challenge of hunting at night, before spreading to various Belkan house forces for military use. A more sensible option.
Lorie remained completely blind, however, to the white and black creatures that followed them silently from behind. Red and blue eyes gleamed in the dark, albeit completely invisible to the knight and her sword. The same could not be said of the gladiatrix, but they had already told her to pretend like they weren't there.
They were watching, and they were hiding. Most importantly, they were waiting for something interesting to happen, once they met with the beast to fight it.
