Athena Velgear is a petite teenage girl with ruby-colored eyes and short white hair with a very faint peach hue towards the front of her head and fading to silvery blue towards the back. Her outfit consists of a royal blue sailor inspired dress with a white cravat, a checkered red head ribbon, and vertically striped thigh highs worn with flared high-heeled boots. Her Device takes the form of an arm bracer with a bladelike metal panel attached to it along its length and extending beyond, mimicking a certain item from an Earth anime.

Athena is driven by her natural passion and competitiveness to win at every endeavor she sets her heart to. Until now, this has manifested in her career as a mage and an intense interest in trading card games and other sorts of gaming matches. Currently, she aims to descend to the surface of the new Earth and find the native magic users. And if that world has her favorite card game, she will surely challenge its inhabitants to a d-d-d-d-duel!

The young Elite known as Athena Velgear displays an intense passion and drive, and one would be justified in calling her motivated. She is also highly competitive, and enjoys a good challenge whether set by herself or others. Still, she displays an unwavering sense of honor and camaraderie as befits her ideal of sportsmanship. While Athena prefers one on one duels, she is more than accepting of team efforts, and makes sure that even her opponents experience a good match. She believes that everything will turn out for good as long as one does their best and believes in themselves and their comrades, an attitude picked up from her stay on Earth as the "Heart of the Cards". Athena is obsessed with the card game she learned on Earth, patterning her behavior after what she believes to be the ideal player of that game, and even spending a substantial amount of money on her hobby.
Backstory:
When Athena was much younger, her family's ship was forced to make a hard landing on Unadministered World #97, also known as Earth. While awaiting repairs and rescue, they were able to find a temporary home and so lived there for a time. Here, Athena made friends with the local humans and learned of Earth entertainment, including a certain card game based on a TV show. This had a huge impact on the homesick girl, and she was greatly comforted. Eventually, she and her family were able to return home, at which point her friends from Earth gave her a deck of cards to remember them by.
A few years later, Athena, having a high aptitude for magic, enrolled in a magic academy and obtained a Device, choosing to have it made in the image of the device used by the characters of her favorite TV show to play card duels. While in the academy, she gained a reputation for her competitiveness and confidence, notably the attitude exhibited by the legendary Aces of working well as a team, never giving up in the face of great odds, and above all, blasting foes to oblivion with the power of friendship.
Graduating as the self-proclaimed Queen of Games, Athena found work as an up-and-coming Elite for the Bureau. Now, she rides on board the Expeditionary Fleet Hex Hammer, seeking travel to a new Earth where new Duels await!
Call to Action:
Upon hearing of a new, different Earth from the Bureau grapevine, and a Fleet put together to explore it, Athena practically jumped at the opportunity. She was assigned to one of the ships after volunteering, and after long last, has arrived in orbit of the planet so similar to the world she holds so dear.
