Name:Cao Lixue
Origin:Techmage
Class:Freelancer
Age:15
Faction:Hex Hammer
Gender:Female
Height/Weight:5'1 106lbs
Appearance:Lixue is a young woman roughly five foot 1 weighing around 7 and a quarter stone with mithril hair draped around her face tied into pigtails. Her ruby eyes draw gazes as her pale porcelain skin mimics that of pop culture phenomena on earth known as vampires. Though most would be happy with such beauty; Lixue is not very fond of her looks as it tends to draw more attention to herself. This is only exacerbated upon by the use of her defensive spells which accents her skin and hair with a brilliant luster further drawing in the attention of others. One of the only things she likes about herself is her lithe stature as it is perfect for scouting and evading hostile elements even if it makes reaching for things annoying. Though while her lower half is quite ample due to her training and missions; Lixue wished that she had a more even build than that of her fellow techmages.
Jacket:Lixue's Barrier Jacket is an open altered purple cheongsam that allows for ease of movement. It is adorned with a blue and red demon design outlined in white with matching purple forearm covers with red accents to help obscure hand sighs or movements from foes. Adorning her head is a purple dragon cap with red clouds with a worn talisman flowing from the left side of her head partially obscuring the left side of her face. Footwear wise, Lixue tends to forgo footwear entirely using her magic to protect her feet unhindered by cumbersome footwear.
Motivations:Discovery and improvement are at the heart of what Lixue wants. From blaster to ancient text, Lixue wants to rip apart and dig into everything and anything and not only learn, but improve and develop new and better magic and devices. Though just because she has a love of tech and machines does not mean that her desire to improve stops there. Lixue focuses on herself as well, training both her body and mind. However, most will tell her that she appears to neglect social skills which often leads to her downfall. Though most of all she wants recognition and the freedom to do what she wants to show everyone that they are wrong about her.
Personality:Stubborn independence is how most of her instructors would describe Lixue. Her dislike of authority and many of the values of the TSAB hinders many of the good and advancement she could make. If she could just learn to work with her administrators instead of just dismissing them many doors would open for her.
Outside of rank, Lixue is about as friendly as a tech freak could be more so acting as a sort of mirror giving back exactly what she gets. Those that get to know her to understand that she cares about improving, everything and anything though is not the best with people. Unlike machines and magic, they do not listen or accept how she wants it to be done which is something that infuriates Lixue to no end. Though despite how it would appear she would not go out of her way to change others as she values not only her independence but others as well.
Lixue can be petty and vindictive at times, but she would never go out of her way to harm or ruin another's life for no reason. She has a strong moral compass counter to what many believe. While her words and action may not seem that way, more often than not they will lead to an altruistic outcome.
Backstory:Born into YuWan household on Shang-rid, Lixue was surrounded by her father's work so much so that her first words were regulator instead of father or mother something her mother never forgave her father for. As soon as she was able to walk, Lixue watched and fiddled with the spare technology lying around her father's workshop. At first, her acts were purely destructive chewing or breaking whatever she could get her hands on. However with age came wisdom and soon she was assisting her father with his work, fiddling and even creating all sorts of odd gadgets from either parts she salvaged from the household or scape she found around the city in her free time.
Though her intellect spanned not just technology, but magic as well so much so that the TSAB took great interest in furthering Lixue's abilities. While neither of her parents and especially YuWan; who had taken quite the interest in the young girl were overly fond of losing their daughter or in YuWan's place losing a future tech leader none of them could match the sheer untapped discovery that could be found among the stars. With a heavy heart and a not so friendly exchange between YuWan Lixue was taken in by the TSAB acting as her guardian.
Due to her unnatural talents, TSAB immediately inducted her into the elite programs with great hopes for another ace in the hole they desperately needed. Though reality is often disappointing. Lixue's abilities were not the issue far from it as both her technical and magical abilities rivaled many of those who rested on their pedigree instead of just their ability. On the other hand, it also acted as a double edged sword as she either clashed with the children of those above her station; even going so far as to publicly disagree and lashing out at her instructors by either trying to show up or prove them wrong. The final straw was when she modified her issued equipment far beyond what the device allow; which ended up did cause harm to not only herself and the instructor that saved her from her hubris. It did not take long for the complaints to pile up forcing TSAB to Lixue from the elite program and placing her within a freelancer contract focused on maintaining TSAB equipment and devices while focusing on her abilities from outside the watchful eye of the many enemies her stubborn independence gained her.
Call to Action: Bored and at her wits end with not only TSAB but her instructors and overseers. Lixue volunteered on the Hex Hammer mission as a science and medical officer in hopes to discover new magic and technology. If she could discover lost tech or even develop a spell or tool that made a sizable contribution to the mission they would have to listen to her and give her the recognition she deserves. Outside of TSAB's administration would allow her to spread her wings and try new ideas that TSAB blocked through their rules and rigid stagnate system. However, gaining a spot on the mission was not simply for someone like her as many people had their plans for a girl of her talents and looks. Through less than honorable actions she gained a spot on the fleet much to her instructor's concern at what she may do and guilt at feeling relief about not having to deal with her.
