THE COLLISION: A CONVERGENCE OF WORLDSI hope their heads aren't colliding. That hurts, you know. There has been a Collision.
A Collision where two multiverses completely separate, governed by their own laws and magical systems, are now intertwined by a tiny point. A singularity where pieces of them trickle ever so slowly into each other.
Discernible only by the most advanced technologies available to each.
Nobody knows how, or why it happened.
Not the most advanced supercomputers at the Administrative Bureau's expansive Headquarters. Not the ancient Overminds overseeing the innumerable bodies of the Kyu Continuum.
But however it happened, there was no doubt it would have great repercussions for both worlds.
TECHMAGE: DROPPING THE HEX HAMMER"We stand or fall together in this unforgiving wilderness." Ever curious, as humans ought to be, the Bureau began sending exploration teams to investigate this new world, and bring back potential news of peaceful contact.
Instead, they brought word of an emergent world with a growing population. A world that, though normally would be observed in secrecy until they evolved enough to reach the stars, was threatened by a global infestation of mad abominations called
Hexes. Insidious, hidden, and hungry, they defy every law of physics and magic known to the Bureau, and consume humans to grow and multiply.
Though a small population of natives with some mysterious magical system was found to be fighting these creatures, they were deemed insufficient to completely eradicate the infestation.
Recognising the threat such an infestation could bring to the Dimensional Sea, the Bureau put out a clarion call. Two thousand Techmage
Volunteers from all walks of life were called upon to go on a mission to save everything they hold dear.
Shuttled aboard a fleet of the Bureau's finest warships, staffed by its best crew, and led by veteran officers of high regard, the Volunteers would form the spearhead of what became known as the
Hex Hammer.
The Hex Hammer fleet departed on a long-term mission to this world, Earth, knowing they would be cut off. It would take a year for them to synthesise enough Mana to return home. For now, they were all by themselves.
The fleet maintains a stealth holding pattern above the Earth, completely invisible to its native population, while its smaller elements scour the solar system for resources to keep them self-sufficient.
Volunteers and the soldiers supporting them are to infiltrate Earth society, establish contact with the local magical population if necessary, and above all, eradicate the Hex infestation.
It will not be easy. But they have crossed the Red Line. For the Hex Hammer, there's no turning back.
WISHMAKER: THE WAR FOR KAMIHAMA"Why won't you listen? All we want is Salvation!" Even before the Collision, Kamihama City was an unusual place. Originally a city operating like any other as part of the Companions' Incubator programme, it was one day suddenly surrounded by a mysterious barrier that severed from the Kyu Datamind any Companion that dared to enter.
Disconnected from the collective consciousness of their race, these agents would shut down completely, rendered useless.
Wishmakers around the world began to have strange dreams, an emissary offering them "Salvation" if they came to Kamihama. And so they flocked in droves.
Witches also made their way to the city, creating an abundance that matched the growing Wishmaker population.
This interference with their plan was unacceptable and had to be stopped.
Investigations by Wishmakers sympathetic to the Companions' plight eventually led to the discovery of a renegade cult of Wishmakers identifying themselves as the
Wings of Magius.
Having discovered the Companions' true agenda, the Wings of Magius sought to upend the Incubator Programme and "liberate" their kind from the cruel, utilitarian system established in prehistoric days by the "Devil".
Led by three mysterious Wishmakers calling themselves the "Neo-Magius" or "New Mage", the Wings of Magius were responsible for erecting the barrier, as well as somehow interfering with the Incubator system.
All Wishmakers within the city limits of Kamihama, should they fall to despair, did not transcend into Witches. Instead, this dark side would somehow be partially tamed and become a shackled form of Witch, known as the Doppel. The Doppel itself would unleash the incredible power of despair, and once it had spent it all, would dissipate and go dormant, sparing the Wishmaker from her tragic fate.
The city was also plagued with mysterious Rumours, creatures that operated differently from Witches and only served to muddle things further.
Fully intent on eliminating this threat to their system, the Companions contacted a number of Wishmakers and using flowery narratives of "justice" and "good and evil", convinced them to find a way to defeat the Wings of Magius.
These Wishmakers met with others of their kind within Kamihama City. They too spread the words of the Companions. Within six months, they raised a number of teams with enough strength to challenge the might and sheer numbers of the shadowy cult.
A great war erupted between these two sides. A war fought in the shadows and the cracks of human society, but a war no less. Wishmaker fought Wishmaker. Not for competition over Seeds, as they usually did, but for beliefs. The Wings of Magius for their oft-repeated goal of "Salvation", and these disparate teams for "Justice".
The War for Kamihama reached its climax a year later, when the teams banded together and attacked
CONTROL STATION FLÜGEL, a major Wings of Magius stronghold that housed the artefact powering the anti-Companion barrier.
The attack was successful, and the artefact was destroyed. Reeling from this defeat for now, the Wings of Magius retreated to regroup and prepare for the next phase of the war.
Once again, the Companions could roam the streets of Kamihama City.
To ensure that this "terrorist organisation" was completely destroyed, they rallied these independent teams and united them under a single banner, the
Kamihama Magia Union.
While on the surface, its purpose was to create a place of camaraderie and friendship between Wishmakers, for the Companions, it would serve a tool to eliminate the Wings of Magius once and for all.
To expedite this process, the Companions began to forge contracts with young boys as a weapon against their rebellious foes. Powered by rage, pride, and stubborn determination rather than grief, this new male type of Wishmaker, the "Warlock", would prove effective in fighting against the Wings of Magius' rogue army.
Soon enough, another cursed entity would arise, fallen Warlocks that came to be known as Daemons. Collectively with Witches, they earned the name "Hex", as both brought curses to the world.
Throughout it all, the Companions successfully concealed the truth from their contractors.
It was around this time then, that they sensed it.
The Collision.
A meeting of worlds. Yet another potential risk to their operations.
Activity surrounding the singularity was minimal, at first. Barring the occasional incursion by foreign probes and individual explorers, there didn't seem to be too much to note.
But then some of these probes found Earth, and with it the Incubator Programme.
All of this activity abruptly stopped.
Then, after six months of silence, the singularity flared, heralding
their arrival.
A mysterious fleet of large, unidentified interstellar warships. Within, they carried scores of foreign magic users who sought to destroy the Companions' source of energy.
Though the Companions withheld this information from their contractors as they deliberated on a course of action, the secrecy would be for nought.
Rumours began to spread among the Wishmakers as more and more witnesses told their tales. Mysterious groups of "magical soldiers", "ETs", or "aliens", depending on who was telling the story, all fighting Hexes and Rumours with strange magic. These groups frequently being led by "abnormal magical girls/boys", who wielded magical machines, rather than the Soul Gems used by all Wishmakers.
The Companions were divided on how to approach the matter, but one thing was certain: the War for Kamihama, once thought to be almost over, had just gotten a lot more complicated.
And from the darkness in which they hid, the Wings of Magius saw in this, a renewed opportunity to secure their Salvation...
What future awaits, now that the Collision is in full swing?
